Our mission and our staff
We invite you to encounter Christ through Creation and Community along the shores of Shakopee Lake! Camp Onomia is a Lutheran Outdoor Ministry which welcomes you to retreat, renew, and refresh. Come and stay a while!
All are welcome here regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, or denomination.

Camp Onomia is an excellent, welcoming place to hold your next church group, family reunion, or business retreat. Our location on scenic Lake Shakopee is surrounded by Kathio State Park and is within 80 minutes of most Twin Cities homes. Our Retreat Center is open throughout the year.

New Retreat Center Entry
We are excited to show off our new entrance to the Retreat Center at camp. We have extended the length of the incline into the building to meet ADA recommendations and to make it easier to walk into the building while pulling your luggage. New commercial entry doors seal up the entry nicely and the new windows and wood brighten up the place. First impressions are everything! Thanks for your financial support to make this happen.

Remodeled Chapel Entry and Bathrooms
We have finally completed the updating of our chapel entrance with new commercial doors and recessed entry. In addition, the bathrooms were remodeled into one family/genderless/ADA room and two nice gendered bathrooms to boot. More space, tiled floors, and nice pine to match the rest of the chapel. THANK YOU to those who generously donate funds each year so that we can do projects like these!
