Onomia Lodging and Services
Camp Onomia has accommodations to serve groups of 6-200. No matter what your need we will find a way to meet your expectations. Here you will find seasonal facilities for youth and families, year round accommodations for conferences, events and everything in between. For youth events, we expect a student to adult supervisor ratio of 7 to 1.
Our Retreat Center can accomodate up to 140 people in hotel style rooms with private bathrooms. This building is open to schedule retreats year round. Seasonal buildings can host an additional 80 people in newly remodeled lodges which contain 3-5 individual cabin units with common bathrooms and centralized showering areas. Linen service is not provided but is available for an additional fee. We are happy to work with you on room assignments as we get closer to your booked date, but you will have the final say in who stays in which room you are assigned. Please use the room lists located on the facilities page to assign housing.
We make sure to provide delicious meals to all groups that come to visit. We will do our best to make all meal times flexible to match with your event schedule while keeping dietary restrictions and allergies in mind. At this time we do not allow groups to prepare their own meals in our commercial kitchen, however we do allow for groups to bring snacks if they would like. Some exceptions may apply with consideration to the kitchen use.

Our main site includes approximately 1500 feet of lakeshore on the southwest portion of Lake Shakopee. We are blessed with absolutely fantastic sunsets which have become a trademark of peaceful evenings here at camp. We also have a rustic semi-wilderness camp site located on the shores of Warren Lake. In it's entirety the main site is a total of approximately 100 acres of beautiful settings for guests to enjoy. As a convenience to our guests most buildings have paved surfaces connecting to each other to ensure safe walking for guests of all ages.
Our sports and activity areas include a large playing field, two volleyball courts, full basketball court, shuffleboard, kids playground, nine hole frisbee golf course, low ropes challenge course and waterfront providing complementary watercraft such as canoes and row boats. In the winter kickball and broomball on the frozen lake are good energy expenders and there is great sliding, cross country skiing, and showshoeing at Kathio State Park just a few miles down the road from us.
In addition to our Retreat Center and Dormitories we also provide a unique opportunity for our guests to stay in our private camp sites which can accomodate tents as well as smaller RV's. These sites are available most weekends and during some weeks of the summer months. Each site includes a firepit, picnic table and bathroom facilities. There are limited electrical and water hookups for RV guests. We permit only 1 vehicle parked at each site and additional vehicles to be parked in the main parking lot.
HIKING, FISHING AND MORE...
With some of the best fishing in the state in surrounding lakes and some of the best hiking trails within Kathio State Park our guests find lots of things to keep them entertained. All row boats and canoes are free to use and life jackets are required. If you are unable to operate a row boat or canoe but still wish to get out on the water, for an additional fee we can provide you with a staff member and our very own 20ft pontoon boat for an evening cruise around the lake. Please contact the office for more details.
